The final movement of a flamenco performance.
The dancer has dropped low, sliding across the floor as the energy of the dance reaches its conclusion. Her body remains caught in the momentum of the movement — head lowered, arms drawn across her torso, the sweeping marks beneath her suggesting the path she has just travelled.
Painted in loose strokes of ochre, yellow and burnt orange, Después captures not the performance itself, but the fleeting moment immediately after it — when movement becomes stillness and the intensity of the dance remains in the body.
